The DIABETES - VITAMIN C Connection

“Man will occasionally stumble over the truth, but usually manages to pick himself up, walk over or around it, and carry on.”

(Winston S. Churchill)

Diabetes may be prevented by the long-term ingestion of daily optimal amounts of vitamin C.”

As early as 1937 it was noted that a diabetic could control their sugar tolerance with a lower level of insulin, simply by ingesting vitamin C, and in 1939 Bartelheimer observed that “Vitamin C increases the effectiveness of the action of insulin”.  This was confirmed by Rogoff in 1944.

Written in 1972, “The Healing Factor” by Irwin Stone was endorsed by two Nobel Prizewinners, Dr. Linus Pauling and Dr. Albert Szent-Gyorgyi. Multiple extracts from the chapter “Diabetes and Hypoglycemia” are now available from “Doctors Don’t Know Diabetes” from this website.

Doctors Don’t Know Diabetes” also analyses similar comments by multiple modern-day authors about the Diabetes/Vitamin C connection.

Apart from the diabetes connection with vitamin C, there is also a thyroid connection with diabetes, and a vitamin C connection to atherosclerosis.
